What was your favorite class in high school? (And no, lunch doesn't count.)
History and Geography, hands down... Although I liked most subjects, I always considered Humanities to be my favourites because, unlike Science, they don't need with the abstract as the Human element is always part of the equation.
I know, I know I already answered a QOTD, but coming across this one, I felt I needed to answer it, if only because I think my love of these subjects is probably one of the many reasons why I do the Nano thing every year...
Work was interesting yesterday, with much praise to go around, all because we were lucky enough for the implementation went out with no major hitches that were not known in advance. A controleld crash landing, if you will. The old me would have been beside himself but today, I find the wisdom of caring just a little less than my superiors...
Getting the FARSIGHT MASK for today's MtG Tarot pick is kind of weird, but it might be a strong indication of not looking at the past, nor let the present taint my view of the future...
How will you use technology or the Internet to help you plan and prepare this year’s Thanksgiving feast?

Well as long as Time Travel is not available through the Inter-tubes, I'll have to make do with rewriting the Wikipedia article to erase all mentions of the American holiday and only have the Canadian one mentionned. :-)
Random encyclopedic terrorism aside, I'm not a big Holiday dinner kind of guy. So, I only surf for cocktail recipes...
Falling a bit behind on my writing duties. Cloud City'a bit more of a drain than expected. Hopefully, the rest of the week should provide me with enough free time to buckle down and get up to speed.
There was a time where work would have been a problem too, but if last year's events have thought me anything, is that, aside from the 7 hours I'm being billed and unavailable, what goes in the office stays in the office...
...aside from the odd oblique reference in a blog from time to time, of course!
Not much to add, so let's go straight to the MtG Tarot outlook. LAVALANCHE, aside from the cringe-value behind this porte-manteau, this might me a good allegory of the coming work week.
An unrelenting flow of destruction heading down my way...
Business as usual.
What's the longest you've ever waited in line?
It would probably be for a movie, either a Star Wars (Original 3) marathon or Star Trek VI... Started to wait the night before for a 6 AM showing. But I guess this will probably be beaten by trying to get the C3P0 Flu shot...
First "nuit blanche" but not strictly because I have fallen behind, but rather I had to swing by Cloud City before going to work. Sigh
Just because I'm in the middle of writing this year's entry doesn't mean I'm not on the lookout for new and interesting items.
This is why I enjoyed coming across Cheliax, Empire of Devils. Coming across while this year's La Cité election was marked with mudslinging and a race to the bottom morals-wise by all parties concerned.
My RPG-playing games are all but over, but the more I read about Pathfinder, the more I find it FEELS right, as an evolution to D&D.
My Tarot outlook for the day Three of Coins (Works): The commencement of business, commercial transactions, or employment. The constructive use of creative talents, and the expression of artistry in workmanship. Skill and labor turned to the crafting of things of value. Using the conventional as a medium for expressing the exceptional, in order to build something of great renown and glory.
Hmm, a good sign for my NaNoWriMo endeavour.
If you could only drink one beverage for the rest of your life (not including water), which one would you choose?
CRANBERRY JUICE!!! Hard to beat, full of Vitamin C and always refreshing...
<beep>
Another year of not enough sleep, last-minute desperation and managing what ever junk Lady Eris sends my way.
Taking the literary route to Europe, making it a lithmus test to whether or not my geopolitics chops are worth anything...
Would have loved had the whole Cloud City situation been taken care of before this, but having a couple more nights all to myself might be a boon.
If all fails, I might find inspiration in today's MtG Tarot Pick, HOWLING MINE .
Secluded spot, with enough coffee? Yeah, that could work...
In the meantime, I apologize in advance as my sanity will slowly crumble away...
Cloud City is fizzling along like a soda bottle that's not properly stoppered... Since one of the main benefits of that project was to permit me the opportunity to diminish (if not abloish) the amount of mundane data I'm picking up, I have to implement a stopgap measure in the mean time while the situation clears itself. So back to the library, and hopefully before Christmas, everything will be okay on that front...
With NaNoWriMo starting this weekend, I feel my creative juices are percolating along nicely. Stocking up on stuff about Europe for a last-minute cramming session.
The madness begins Sunday...
Weird MtG Tarot pick as I got RELIC BARRIER for today's draw.
Then again, it is rather fitting as I'm in the process of planning ahead and this is a reminder of the usefulness of preparedness
Will you be giving out candy to trick or treaters this year? If so, what goodies can the ghosts and goblins expect to bring home?
Sadly, no there's just not enough kids passing by in my neighbourhood, so I usually drop some goodies to kids in the Albanian collective who took a shine to my mom. And does my coworkers count, if they do, I got extra-burnt "Go / No Go" brownies along with virgin Mo-Jef-ito for our department's potluck lunch...
...too bad, one of them's turns out to be me!
Weird team-bonding activity @BigMediaCo as we were "invited" to provide baby pictures of ourselves and we were supposed to guess the grown-up behind each picture?
Here's all the pictures which I've been considered to be my younger self...
Compare it to my current version (left) and I have to admit that I find it weird that it would be so hard to find me. The funny thing is that I didn't want to participate and put my photo until I heard some of my colleagues acting all smug as they had FOUND me. That would have been cruel, so I decided to give them a fighting chance. Needless to say I didn't win the "Closest to now" category.
As for my guesstimate, I did okay with just about 85% right putting me roughly 5th out of 32 people.
My MtG card of the day is PANG TONG, YOUNG DRAGON. I feel strange with the meaning of this card.
Am I supposed to be thje one seeking advice or the one giving it?
Enlightenement would me so much easier if it were a one-way path!
