Picking up the pace (to avoid losing face)
The title of my post reflects 2 things. I don't know whether it it my writing duties but I seem to be more keenly aware of what's going on in the news than usual (or at least, I'm becoming more attuned to them).
The latest such occurence concerns (of all things) the current Provincial election, which has been ho-hum so far (IMHO). Now we have the leader of the 3rd place party, Pauline Marois of the Parti Québécois, shooting some heavy volleys againt the leading party. Aside from the oppositiion party with their strategy of negarive ads and comedy of errors-style planning, the campaign has been bland and this has been the first time one of the 2 "main" parties has gone on the offensive, as it were.
I don't think it will dismiss the feeling of election fatigue I feel around me, but it just made the event a little bit more lively.
As for the other side of the coin, it has to apply with my writing assignment for NaNoWriMo. It seems that I have fallen to a pace that translates to 4 days behind schedule.
Now, I know it's hard to write during the work-week, and my insomnia/flu/weird allergic reactions that have plagued me for the past week doesn't help. but I will have to kick my butt into gear this week-end.
Even with a data gathering session and a BigMediaCo Union meeting on Sunday, sigh. Time to hook up the Jolt! IV.
Mtg Tarot-wise, I've drawn VIRIDIAN SHAMAN. With falling temperatures and rumours of snow for the week-end, I am at a loss to find any signification to that particular portent.
